I have been fighting a battle of wills for years with one of my children, and it heated up over the last two days. Now I have won. It's pretty awesome, short lived as my victory might be. That's all right. I'll have a countermove when I need one.

  1. I look forward to the day I can say the same.

  2. Wanna hear how good God is in answering my prayers? I have been fighting a battle of the wills on entirely different fronts for years with 2 of my kids! Heartbreaking and isolating stuff, some days! I am so blessed to say that both are doing well! There's a lot of judgment out there for having non-compliant children, but kids just are who they are, and all we can do is try to shape their character. My third child is entirely tractable by nature, which gives me hope! Doing our best and asking God to make up the difference is a real act of faith, huh? I loved the article you posted about parenting. a verse that has helped me a lot is "He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, will He not also along with Him graciously give is all things?". He will answer our prayers for patience and wisdom, and I'll keep you in mine!
